Keyboards Before Credentials

We started BlitzSector because we were tired of reading reviews written by people who clearly hadn't finished the game. Six years later, nothing has changed about that.

Built on Frustration, Run on Principle

BlitzSector launched in 2020 out of a shared frustration: Australian gaming coverage was either copied from US outlets with no regard for ANZ servers, pricing, or release timing — or it was written under publisher pressure with scores that bore no relationship to the actual experience.

We set three rules on day one and haven't broken them since. Every review requires a minimum 20 hours of play. No publisher provides review hardware or travel. Scores are never negotiated, adjusted, or embargoed beyond the standard review period.

We cover ANZ esports because the scene deserves proper documentation — not a paragraph at the end of an international recap. Tournament coverage, bracket results, and prize pool tracking are treated as first-class editorial.

How We Work

20-Hour MinimumNo review is published without a minimum of 20 hours of play. For RPGs and open-world titles, the threshold is typically 40–60 hours. We finish the games we review.
🚫
No Publisher HardwareWe purchase our own review copies or use standard review codes with no strings attached. No publisher has ever provided hardware, travel, or hospitality to our team.
🇦🇺
ANZ Server TestingOnline performance is always tested on ANZ servers, not US or EU. Australian players deserve to know how a game actually runs in their region.
📝
Scores Are FinalScores are never adjusted post-publication except to correct factual errors, which are disclosed with a dated note. We don't bump scores after publisher complaints.
